Mod location and controls

Postby Fed1 » 01 Dec 2022, 21:09

Hi manu!
I just wanted to ask if in the future it would be possible to install mods outside the C drive. I'm sure many of us has a rather small ssd/nvme drive and a larger hdd, Do you think it's possible to install mods in TE4 install location much like TE2013? I know that mod sharing within the game itself is something you're considering so I'm not sure if this is possible or convenient (You're probably using the user folder so you don't have to worry about writing permissions, Right?).

Another thing I noticed, as key mappings and controls are stored per profile, each time I temper with mods I need to reassign my very custom control bindings. Considering that the goal is to configure controls only once, Do you think it's possible to separate them from the profile? I open up this question to anyone reading this, ¿Do you use different controls per profile/mod?

Hello,

1) In your Mods.ini, use BasePath to set your Mods folder location to anywhere. eg :
Code: Select all
BasePath = D:\MyBigFatDrive\MySuperTE4Mods

2) You can copy/paste the [KeysN1] or [JoyN1] sections between your profiles .ini (with the game closed) to easily transfer your control bindings.
